📝 About this event
With Aynur, every song tells a story, as the celebrated singer draws from her Kurdish background. Her songs are also moving sound poems, with which she evokes a world of emotions. Together with her own band and the North Netherlands Orchestra, Aynur presents an anthology from her body of work, ranging from intimate to danceable and featuring strings prominently. Aynur is also a phenomenon in the Netherlands, as evidenced by her previous concerts at the Muziekgebouw, which sold out quickly. Her international status is confirmed by the famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who collaborated with her and describes her voice as "deeply soulful, heartwarming, and unforgettable." On her recent album Rabe as well, she blends Kurdish poetry with pop, jazz, and classical music.
