📝 About this event
A Conversation on the Position of the Kurds in the Post-Islamic Republic of Iran Join us in the UK Parliament for a timely and thought-provoking discussion on the future of the Kurds in Iran following a potential transition beyond the Islamic Republic. This important conversation will explore the Kurdish struggle for democracy, equality, and self-determination within the context of regional change. As Iran faces growing political and social transformation, questions about the future of its diverse nations and peoples are more relevant than ever. This event will focus on the position of the Kurds in a post-Islamic Republic Iran—their political aspirations, challenges, and opportunities in shaping a democratic, pluralistic future. Representatives from the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) will offer key insights into Kurdish perspectives on political organisation, human rights, and the prospects for federalism or self-administration in Iran’s evolving landscape. We are honoured to welcome Siamand Moeini, Member of the PJAK Assembly, as our keynote speaker. The discussion will be chaired by Lord Watts, Labour Peer. RSVP: Spaces are limited and pre-registration is essential due to parliamentary security procedures.
